Words of A Kemcolian Pixie.
Knowledge and Information.
Parhai Or Taleem..?

He who knows not, and knows
not that he knows not, is a fool. Shun him.
He who knows not, and knows that he knows not, is simple. Teach him.
He who knows, and knows not that he knows, is asleep. Wake him.
He who knows, and knows that he knows, is wise. Follow him.

The demonstrator explains the clavicle. I listen. I frown. Itna kuch itni si bone mein :-| I learn it. I revise it with friends.
Holidyas.
I think Chalo clavicle hi revise kr letey hain. I
try. But I cannot remember much about it. CLAVICLE
TK BHOOL GYI.
Why? Because it was some idiotic information that just
doesnāt stay in my brain. It keeps on slipping out.
I just have to cram and cram and cram it to memorize things. Every year, the same incidents happen. Conceptual study jitni b krlo, marna to end
mein ratta hi hota hai.
I wake up till 3 o clock, trying to revise the entire
course. I get a permanent acne and hair
fall problem. Why? Why do I do this? Why do I take the pain?
BECAUSE
I have a dream. A
Goal. I keep the end in mind. In Matric,
my goal was to get into a good college. In Fsc, it was to get into KE. And now,
short-term goals. Like filhaal it is to paas the sub-stage. :P
Why does it hurt then?
When I achieve my goal, why canāt I forget the pain I had to go through
for it?
MAY BE
May be because my goals are disoriented. May be what I am
doing is not what I ought to do.
I cram the information. I forget about the knowledge that I
should be gaining.
I forget the difference between TALEEM and ILM..!!
The Prophet
Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The seeking of knowledge is
obligatory for every Muslim." - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 74
|
So we have forgotten what we were told do. We were told to go and find the knowledge present in the world, to find the secrets of Allah, the truth behind our existence and the acts that are needed to be done in this world.
Education used to be the craze of knowing the unknown for seeking
Allahās pleasure. Education used to be ILM. Muslim scholars used to sit and
ponder over the rules of Algebra because they knew theyāll benefit the world
somehow by their world and this shall please their Lord. And hence they created
a difference in the world. Their names and
works were written down in sunehri haroof.
But it was the story of the old times. We cannot do what
they did. We have a different environment now; a different education system. Today education is TALEEM. So how can we apply
those rules of knowledge?
We can! Islam was not created for a specific time period or
era. It is a universal deen and a complete code of life. We just have to seek
the answers to all our queries and troubles.
In the pressure of education of todayās system every student
is being crushed. Itās a DO OR DIE scenario. But in spite of all this, if we
just reset our goals, if we just review the end that we have in mind
all the pain can be treated easily. If as a student you are working hard day
and night just to become a BABU, you will certainly go through
the pain of pressure. (BABU is defined as a gentleman of the subcontinent who
dresses and speaks like the English. This was a term introduced by the British
in the subcontinent to differentiate between the English and the Asian men. )
But if you have the intention of seeking knowledge for Allahās pleasure, every
moment of pain you spend in rattalizing those creepy bones shall
bring swab to you.
Just fill your heart with the light of Allah. In subjects that we have
to study as medical students, always ponder over the minute details that Allah
has put into everything. Praise the karigari
of Allah. Whining about the minute veins and
nerves in the human body while studying them shall only depress you. But getting awed by the creation of Allah and
saying SUBHAN-ALLAH shall not only add some good deeds to your right shoulder
book but also make it learning easier for you.
Always find the practical applications of anything that you
study. Always try to apply the knowledge you have for the welfare of mankind.
The practical application of the study we, medical students, are doing is so
full of rewards but if only our intentions are right.
The Prophet said: "Knowledge from which no
benefit is derived is like a treasure out of which nothing is spent in the
cause of God." -
Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 108
Itās just all the game of Neyat!
And remember your status as a student! Be true to your
studies because they make better than others! Thank Allah for He has given you
the opportunity to get yourself educated!
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
"If anyone travels on a road in search of knowledge, God will cause him to
travel on one of the roads of Paradise. The angels will lower their wings in
their great pleasure with one who seeks knowledge. The inhabitants of the
heavens and the Earth and (even) the fish in the deep waters will ask
forgiveness for the learned man. The superiority of the learned over the devout
is like that of the moon, on the night when it is full, over the rest of the
stars. The learned are the heirs of the Prophets, and the Prophets leave (no
monetary inheritance), they leave only knowledge, and he who takes it takes an
abundant portion. - Sunan
of Abu-Dawood, Hadith 1631
